As a huge Sports Night and WW fan, I was surprised on how many of these I'd not picked up on. This video serves to show how the cast of the West Wing delivers EVERY SINGLE line in the most emotional, articulate way. Even the lines delivered by Big Time movie stars - e.g. A Few Good Men, Malice. The West Wing cast are the superior actors. Hell, even Sports Night shared a crew and directors!

Just rediscovered this. Still fun.

I was today years old when I learned that Sorkin wrote The Social Network. Also The American President was my gateway to West Wing. It's my mom's favorite movie, the one she watches when she's not feeling good.

After watching through the west wing several times years ago this is straight up nauseating to watch, thank you so much

This was amazing.

I love when writers do this. I know this is about Snorkin but Mike Flanagan does this in his Haunting series with actors, quotes, you get it. It makes everything seem connected in a nice way like “Ha! They said that in X show too hehe.” It’s sorta like an easter egg or a signature on a painting. I think it being a different context for every recycle is Shakespeare how it was meant to be done.

Very very annoyed that I can no longer remember the sorkinisms that made it into his (ummm.... frankly awful) Camelot rewrite. I know one of them was not exactly "don't talk to me like I'm other people" but rather was a really long rephrasing of it to something closer to "that's what you'd say to everybody else, but not me" which I laughed out loud at cause even as it was being said all I could hear was the sorkinism lolll. There were definitely at least two verbatim ones and it's bugging me so much that I've forgotten them

I have an explanation for this. Aaron Sorkin has been writing dialogue for a very long time. It's like a guitarist who sometimes likes to use their favorite lick or riff, and their trademark usages of them. A "Sorkinism", if you will.

Watching this back to back with the first vid actually starts to get exhausting. It’s hilarious how many repetitions there are. (I say this as someone who LOVES Sorkin’s writing.)
